Arvon Township board accepts financial report, schedules audit presentation and flags mileage-election wording

Tammy (T.) Hollon, school personnel, reported that total liabilities and equity equaled $512,662.82 and that the district received an ESSER deposit of $31,465.61; the board accepted the financial report on a motion by K. Laramore and second by M. DeLine.
The board scheduled Hungerford-Nichols to present the annual financial report for the year ended June 30, 2024, via Zoom at the November meeting. Board members also noted that Thurn Law is still considering the district’s request to lower legal fees because of the district’s small size; no final decision on legal fees was recorded.
Election outreach: Board members raised concerns that the wording for a mileage election is misleading. The board directed that explanatory information be sent to Arvon voters to clarify the ballot language; the minutes do not include the specific wording to be sent.
Other items: T. Hollon reported she completed a $99 Excel training that she said was helpful. The minutes list substitute-driver candidate Roxanne Clement as lacking a chauffeur license and note that Cathy Saari has expressed interest in substitute driving.
The board set its next meeting for Nov. 12, 2024, at 5:00 p.m.
