Chrisney council hears wastewater update, approves computer purchase and discusses Main Street LED sign

The Chrisney Town Council on May 4 received multiple utility updates and approved a routine IT purchase as part of a mostly administrative agenda.
John, a town staff member, told the council the wastewater project is essentially complete but that some remaining issues remain and can be addressed with remaining project funds. He said Drew Flamion of Commonwealth has been working with the town on paperwork with the State Revolving Fund office and that obtaining the required state permit is slowing overall progress.
On insurance, agent Chris Middleton of Business & Insurance Solutions told the council she brought “nothing but good news,” reporting that after the annual review there will be no policy increase this year because of the town’s risk control and risk management measures.
Kim presented a quote from Brian's Computer Service and Repair, LLC for $1,931.26 to replace John’s computer, provide a backup for the plant, and install PC Matic Desktop on three computers. Mason moved to approve the purchase and Greg seconded; the motion carried and the purchase was authorized (the minutes record the approval but do not list a roll-call tally).
Council members also discussed adding an LED display to the Main Street sign to share community information. Installer Brian Pund provided a quote for the sign frame; council asked John to obtain additional local quotes for the frame and to check electrical requirements with CenterPoint, and John suggested adding decorative light poles in the area.
The council approved routine March financial and payroll reports and noted upcoming Customer Appreciation Days (Sweet Treats & Coffee at Town Hall on Tuesdays and Thursdays in May) before adjourning.
