The council moved into closed session several times during the Feb. 3 meeting to consider personnel matters and other nonpublic items. After returning to open session, the council voted on wages for two employees and to notify a service provider.
Following closed session, Ryan Harnden moved to approve a wage of $27.50 per hour for Bryan Free; the motion passed 5–2 with Councilmembers Glen Hawes and Stanley Chovanec voting no. The council later approved raising Jamie Thoms’s wage to $19.50 per hour; that motion passed 6–1 with Hawes opposed.
In a separate personnel matter considered in closed session, Harnden moved and the council voted unanimously to give Gull Lake Sewer & Water Authority a 30‑day notice of termination of services.
Those personnel and service decisions followed the council’s closed‑session deliberations; the transcript records the votes and outcomes but does not include the closed‑session discussion content.
