During the May 5 Parks and Recreation Board meeting, Board member Brain Overley reported that four trees purchased with funds from an AEP grant will be placed in the green space adjoining the south side of the community garden.
Chair Ira Johnson asked the Department of Public Works to help remove the trees from delivery trucks and locate planting spots when the trees arrive. Johnson said he will work with Village Manager Dan Faulkner to coordinate DPW support and volunteer placement for planting.
The Board did not specify species, planting dates, or additional costs beyond the AEP grant purchase; Overley’s report indicates the trees have been purchased and delivery/planting logistics are the remaining tasks.
