Three Oaks updates water main repair; bacteria tests return negative

Village officials on Feb. 12 said crews have excavated and flushed a damaged water main and will chlorinate the repaired section until it meets state requirements.
Matt Lindsey said Burkholder Excavating dug up the line and crews flushed it, inserting a camera that later broke; they will attempt a new camera inspection. “All of this month’s bacteria samples came back negative,” Lindsey said. Manager Faulkner said crews will chlorinate the section under repair and restore it to the system only after it passes state standards; Village President Graziano said the council will decide when chlorination should be discontinued.
The council directed Chief Krause and staff to continue monitoring and to post water updates to the village’s social media channels. No formal vote was required; the water-repair updates were delivered as part of manager and committee reports.
