River Ridge board narrowly approves temporary aeration "zombie box" for Lake E1‑C

The River Ridge Community Development District on Nov. 19 approved installing a temporary aeration "zombie box" at the existing location in Lake E1‑C for $3,098 after discussing a more extensive relocation that would add about $10,755 in electrical work.
Operations Manager Shane Willis presented Premier Lakes' one‑time work order agreement and a revised Bentley Electric proposal that would add roughly 125 feet of electrical work to move the aeration system out of an easement between homes. Board members debated whether to proceed now or revisit relocation during the proposed Fiscal Year 2026 budget process.
On a motion by Chair Bob Schultz, seconded by Robert Twombly, the board approved installing the zombie box; the motion passed 3‑2 with Schultz, Twombly and Keith Merrill voting in favor and Terry Mountford and Kurt Blumenthal dissenting. The board noted the relocation proposals (approximately $10,755) will be reviewed again in FY2026 budget discussions.
