Premier Lakes: compressor noise reduced but tone remains; Lake E4-A plantings postponed after Edgewater concerns

Bill Kurth of Premier Lakes told the Board on July 23 that the lakes, preserves and dry retention areas are in good condition, but that seasonal algae growth has been observed and addressed as part of normal maintenance. He said a cabinet installed around the compressor system at Masters Lake reduced the measured sound level from 64 to 52 decibels.
Operations Manager Shane Willis said the remaining concern is not the decibel level but "the tone of the aerator," and discussed moving the compressor and easement constraints as possible remedies. Mr. Willis said he will coordinate with Bill and Alex Kurth and report findings at the next meeting.
Supervisor Bob Schultz summarized flooding issues in the Edgewater area, including recommendations for additional piping, littoral plantings and rip-rap. The Board reached consensus that Canna lilies should not be planted, and that plantings in Lake E4-A would be delayed until an agreement is reached with the Edgewater Association; staff will place the Lake E4-A plantings on hold and resubmit the proposal.
Next steps: Mr. Willis will coordinate compressor relocation options with Premier Lakes staff and report back; staff will hold off on planting Lake E4-A pending agreement with the Edgewater Association.
