Planning commission approves two final plats and an Island Wellness Massage relocation

Staff presented the final plat for Highland Lakes West Section Two, describing roughly 43.12 acres off William Few Parkway currently zoned R-2 and proposed for 92 single-family lots. Staff recommended approval; a commissioner moved to approve and the commission approved the final plat by voice vote.
The commission also approved the final plat for Rice Farm Section Four, a roughly 14.2-acre parcel off Reynolds Road proposing 23 lots (lots 285–307). Staff recommended approval; commissioners moved, seconded and approved the plat by voice vote.
In a separate item, staff recommended approval of a relocation and massage operator's license for Island Wellness Massage LLC, operated by Joyce Sablon, at 120 North Belair Road for on-site and mobile massage services. A commissioner moved to approve the operator's license and the motion carried by voice vote.
The chair noted that the Planning Commission serves as a recommending body for certain land-use matters to the Columbia County Board of Commissioners and outlined the process for applicants or opponents to address the Board. The items approved by the commission will follow applicable county procedures and any items requiring Board action will be forwarded for final consideration.
