He said staff and the low bidder negotiated value-engineering changes that preserved the overall design intent while narrowing the roadway corridor and produced the lower contract price to be funded from SPLOST 2328.

"600 days," said Kyle when asked about schedule, and staff noted a roughly 500-foot bridge crossing the creek will likely be the critical path, with an expected finish of late 2028 to early 2029, weather permitting.
