Godwin Heights board elects officers, names Allen Johnston president

The Godwin Heights Public Schools Board of Education on Jan. 12 unanimously elected new officers for 2026, selecting Allen Johnston as president, LeeAnn Platschorre as vice president, Colleen Anderson as secretary and Kenneth Hornecker as treasurer.
The election unfolded during the board's organizational business at the start of the meeting at Godwin Heights High School. LeeAnn Platschorre nominated Johnston for president; the nomination was seconded by Kenneth Hornecker and nominations were closed by a subsequent motion. A roll-call vote recorded all five trustees present voting in favor and Johnston assumed the duties of president. Platschorre, Anderson and Hornecker were then similarly nominated and confirmed in their respective roles, each by unanimous roll-call vote.
The board's roll call at the meeting confirmed trustees Allen Johnston, LeeAnn Platschorre, Kenneth Hornecker, Colleen Anderson and Drake were present; trustees Crow-DeYoung and Erskine were absent. Superintendent Conklin chaired the opening portion of the meeting and Lori Orlowski served as secretary for the election process. No public comments were recorded during the organizational portion.
The new leadership will preside over upcoming agenda and budget discussions the board previewed elsewhere in the meeting.
