The Godwin Heights Public Schools Board of Education unanimously approved a five-year copier contract with Xerox and passed a routine consent agenda at its Aug. 25 meeting.
Mr. Hickson recommended the board approve the five-year Xerox agreement, which calls for 19 new machines to be housed in the district maintenance garage and for Xerox to remove the district’s older equipment. Board members were told the change is expected to produce cost savings. The motion to approve was made by Kenneth Hornecker and supported by LeeAnn Platschorre; a roll-call vote recorded all members in favor.
The board also approved the consent agenda, which included minutes from the Aug. 11 regular meeting; the monthly financial report and bills payable for June 2025; payroll for July 5 and July 20, 2025; and personnel recommendations covering hires and notices of resignations/retirements. The consent agenda motion was made by Hornecker and supported by Kathryn Crow-DeYoung; the vote was unanimous.
No formal discussion about specific dollar amounts for the copier contract or projected savings was recorded in the minutes. The board’s next steps on procurement logistics are not specified beyond the contract terms reported at the meeting.
The meeting convened at 6:00 p.m. and adjourned at 6:23 p.m.
