Select Board accepts Senior Center director’s resignation, thanks her for years of service

Senior Center Director Colleen Letourneau submitted a notice of retirement that the Select Board formally accepted at its Feb. 17 meeting.
Board member Bernard Boudreau commended Letourneau for the work she has done to make the Senior Center active and well‑participated, citing programs she started. The resignation letter was read at the meeting; despite Boudreau saying he would not accept the resignation, the board voted 3‑yes, 1‑no to accept it with "heartfelt appreciation" and asked that Letourneau stay on to train her successor.
The meeting also included public accolades for Letourneau from Karen Boudreau. The board recognized both Letourneau and Town Secretary Sandra L. Wood for their service during the announcements portion of the agenda.
What happens next: Letourneau will remain to assist with transition and training while the Select Board or town staff begin recruiting or appointing a successor, per the minutes.
