Heard County appoints Mark III as insurance broker, approves FY27 Transit Grant 5311

The Heard County Board of Commissioners on Aug. 19, 2025, appointed Mark III as the county’s insurance broker for employee health benefits and authorized Chairman Tracy McCormick to sign the broker contract provided the current insurance plans remain unchanged. Commissioner James Perry moved and Commissioner Larry Hammond seconded the motion; the appointment passed unanimously.
At the same meeting commissioners also voted unanimously to accept the FY27 Transit Grant 5311 after a motion by Commissioner James Perry and a second by Commissioner David Walls. The transcript does not record grant amounts or further conditions attached to the grant acceptance.
Earlier in the meeting the Board approved minutes from the July 15, 2025 work session and regular meeting, and amended the agenda to remove two items related to a variance application from the docket. The meeting concluded with a unanimous vote to adjourn at 6:51 p.m.
