Chelmsford committee elects new officers; Carven named chair

The Town of Chelmsford Community Preservation Committee elected Judy Carven as chair, Maura Snow as vice chair and Evan Belansky as clerk in unanimous roll-call votes at its virtual meeting on Jan. 21, 2026.
The nominations were put forward during the opening portion of the meeting. Karl Bischoff moved to nominate Judy Carven for chair; Maura Snow seconded. The committee voted 6-0 to appoint Carven. Carven then nominated Snow for vice chair and Belansky for clerk; both nominations were seconded and approved on voice roll calls, each by a 6-0 vote.
The officers will oversee the committee’s agenda as it considers Open Space Capital Improvement Account requests and other community preservation matters. The meeting continued after the elections to review two funding proposals for open-space projects.
The committee approved minutes from Nov. 19, 2025 and adjourned at 6:28 PM; the next meeting date was not set.
