District hears presentation on cultural-responsiveness partnership with BMEA

Superintendent Bill Barnes introduced the initiative and said the work is supported by a grant through Eaton RESA. Michael Payne, BMEA chief of strategy and school partnership, provided a detailed overview of the organization's approach and answered board members' questions about implementation and objectives.
Board members praised the presentation. Denise DuFort described the presentation as "extremely powerful," and Coban Holmes and Dr. Toni Glasscoe commented on the importance and potential impact of the work.
