Linden council approves two bond ordinances, MDOT grant agreement and amended assessing contract

Dickinson-Wright attorney Eric McGlothlin reviewed the special-assessment-district process and bond-sale options before Council adopted Ordinance No. 416 authorizing issuance and sale of the city27s 2024 Special Assessment Bond. The motion to approve Ordinance No. 416 was made by Councilor Pam Howd and seconded by Councilor Brad Dick; the roll call vote was 7-0 (AYES: Dick, MacDermaid, Armstrong, Simons, Culbert, Cusson, Howd).
Council then approved Ordinance No. 417 authorizing the issuance and sale of Limited Tax General Obligation Bonds after McGlothlin summarized repayment plans and next steps. Motion by Ray Culbert, second by Pam Howd; roll call 7-0 (AYES: Cusson, Culbert, Simons, Howd, Dick, MacDermaid, Armstrong).
City Manager Ellen Glass reviewed a Michigan Department of Transportation grant agreement and Council adopted Resolution No. 27-24 approving the MDOT grant agreement. Motion by Pam Howd, second by Elizabeth Armstrong; roll call 7-0 (AYES: MacDermaid, Simons, Howd, Dick, Culbert, Armstrong, Cusson).
Council also approved an amended 2024-2026 Agreement for City of Linden Assessing Services, including fieldwork adjustments and Fenton City Council approval. Motion by Heather MacDermaid, second by Pam Howd; roll call 7-0.
Finally, members approved payment of bills totaling $70,684.91. Motion by Pam Howd, second by Brad Dick; roll call 7-0 (AYES: Simons, Dick, MacDermaid, Culbert, Cusson, Howd, Armstrong).
