Councilmembers and staff discussed whether architectural fees would come from state grant funds and confirmed meetings have begun with stakeholders, including the library, about relocation and storage needs during construction.
A public commenter raised concerns about the contract amount, urged the city to expedite work tied to grant deadlines, and asked whether a construction contractor had already been selected; staff responded that design selection has been completed and relocation details will be refined as the project timeline becomes clearer. Mayor Danielle Cusson moved to approve the contract and Councilmember Pam Howd seconded; the motion passed 7-0 on roll call.
Next steps: staff will proceed with the architectural contract, coordinate with grant administrators on timelines and continue stakeholder meetings to plan temporary locations for the museum, library and council chambers while the Mill is renovated.
