At the March 9 meeting Superintendent Dr. Linda Dwight updated the committee on the MSBA-related HVAC project and recommended approving contracts with GreenerU as the owner's project manager and IMEG for schematic design. Committee members were told the final total cost came in at $200,000 (staff noted earlier estimates around $210,000 plus a separate $15,000 OPM fee). The committee voted 5-0 to approve the OPM and schematic-design contract arrangement.
Dr. Dwight and staff said IMEG will perform studies and pricing related to heating and cooling systems, roof and solar readiness, and ADA compliance as part of schematic work aligned with the MSBA schedule and fall Town Meeting timeline. Staff also indicated intent to apply for a $150,000 technical-assistance grant from Green Communities to help offset project costs.
