Greer County commissioners approve juvenile‑detention contracts, sheriff grant resolution and a package of routine agreements

The board unanimously approved detention‑services agreements with Comanche County Regional Juvenile Detention Center (CCRJDC), Cleveland County Regional Juvenile Detention Center (Couch Center) and/or Pottawatomie County Juvenile Detention Center (Carter Hall), Juvenile Justice, Inc., and Woodward County Juvenile Justice, Inc. The motions were presented by Brent York and seconded by Steven Fite; each carried with York, Barnes and Fite voting aye. These agreements establish options for housing juveniles outside Greer County and create contractual pathways for detention services.
Commissioners also approved Resolution #2026‑25, authorizing the sheriff’s Funding Assistance Grant Application, and a transfer of appropriations moving funds from the sheriff’s maintenance and operations and capital outlay accounts to the sheriff’s personal services to cover personnel expenses. The meeting record shows those votes passed unanimously.
Other items approved included an agreement with Express Workforce Solutions (RE: Jeremy Justice), a cooperative service agreement with USDA‑APHIS Wildlife Services, the county’s intent to participate in ACCO‑SIF workers’ compensation for FY2026‑2027, a Health Insurance Premium Subsidy Remittance Agreement with the Oklahoma Public Employees Retirement System (Benefits Select), Blue Cross Blue Shield of Oklahoma supplemental employment verification, a county treasurer transcript approving June 2026 resale proceedings, issuance of blanket purchase orders, and payroll. The board also approved Resolution #2026‑24 to declare and dispose of surplus items and accepted the resignation of Rebecca Price from the Greer County Special Ambulance Service District 522 Board.
