Republic Township approves $100,000 sewer payment, pay draw to UPEA and hires two summer workers

Supervisor John Dulek moved to approve the $100,000 sewer loan payment; Treasurer Tina Koski seconded the motion and the board approved it by roll call. Earlier in the meeting the board approved a $4,129 pay draw to UPEA for work on the Kloman Water Project on a motion by Dulek, seconded by Trustee Irene Dishno; that motion also passed by roll call. Dulek reported the Kloman Water Project is anticipated to begin mid-to-late May.
The board approved the purchase and delivery of a vault toilet for Moose Rapids after a motion by Dulek and a second from Dishno; the motion passed on a roll-call vote. The board also voted to join MABAS by resolution (motion by Dulek, seconded by Koski), and approved hiring two summer workers, Morgan Nelson and Jeremiah Tobias (motion by Koski, seconded by Dulek). Meeting minutes indicate the summer applications remain open.
Clerk Anna Griepentrog recorded routine motions to approve the previous meeting's minutes and the agenda with corrections; those motions were made and seconded by board members and approved. The board then approved payment of the meeting bills on a motion by Dulek and second by Koski. All recorded motions during the meeting passed as noted in the minutes.
Next steps noted in the meeting minutes include DPW verification of a water shut-off related to a Historical Society billing question raised earlier in the meeting, and the imminent start date for Kloman Water Project work.
