Supervisor previews budget workshops, road projects and reports assessed‑value increases

Dulek said budget workshops will be scheduled soon and listed road projects under consideration including Silver Bay Road and Bengston Road and possible work on Willow Street from Maple to Evergreen. He reported assessor statistics showing assessed values increased 7.6% for residential properties, 13% for agricultural properties and 14% for commercial properties.
During public comment the supervisor reported that the township building roof will require replacement; he said bids will be obtained and estimated costs may exceed $125,000. The board agreed to obtain bids and review costs during future budget discussions.
Trustee Irene Dishno noted the Planning Commission review of event ordinances and emphasized adherence to rental agreements on township property. Trustee Duane Saari reported EMS updates, including that an ambulance was being repaired and that Ely Township donated land in Greenwood Township for a potential EMS garage; EMS meetings will now be quarterly unless special meetings are needed.
What happens next: staff will schedule budget workshops, solicit bids for the roof replacement, and move forward with planning for the road projects as budget discussions proceed.
