Luther board accepts county Hazard Mitigation Plan after county emergency manager presentation

He said the county can also provide hands-on services such as smoke-alarm evaluation and installation and can advise local departments on which grants to pursue.
Tiffany Clark read the resolution adopting the Hazard Mitigation Plan and moved for its adoption; the motion was seconded by James Bacon and approved by the council. The board did not specify any local amendments to the plan.
Why it matters: acceptance of the county plan keeps Luther eligible for certain grant programs tied to mitigation planning and gives the village a named county resource for emergency-planning advice and limited onsite services.
