The Hoosac Valley Regional School Committee voted Aug. 25 to authorize Chair Erin Milne to appoint two committee members to an exploratory working group on regionalization. Milne outlined that all three participating districts will pass consistent resolutions, that the exploratory group's work is expected to be complete by October, and that a larger committee will be formed afterward to pursue the group's recommendations.
The motion to authorize the chair to appoint members passed unanimously. Committee members heard that the exploratory group's responsibilities will be time-limited and focused on producing initial recommendations to inform next steps.
Next steps: the chair will name two members to the working group; the minutes state the group's work should be complete by October and that subsequent committee formation will follow the exploratory phase.
