Holbrook School Committee approves 2.5% raises for staff and superintendent

The committee approved the Teacher’s Unit MOA for the period Sept. 1, 2025–Aug. 31, 2026; the Paraprofessional Unit MOA for the period July 1, 2025–June 30, 2026; the Administrative Assistant Unit MOA for the period July 1, 2025–June 30, 2026; and the Food Service Managers MOA (term and effective dates listed in meeting materials). Each motion was made by School Committee Secretary Fred White and seconded (primarily by Vice Chair Renee Malvesti or Member Ryan Despres depending on the item) and carried 5-0-0.
The MOAs for the instructional and support units include a negotiated 2.5% salary increase and two weeks of paid parental leave for employees who qualify under FMLA. The committee also recommended that Superintendent Julie Hamilton receive a 2.5% salary increase matching the units; that motion passed 5-0-0. The superintendent’s annual evaluation is scheduled for March, and Hamilton is to provide supporting materials to the committee by late January or early February in advance of that evaluation.
Meeting minutes show the financial report indicated the district closed FY25 with a zero balance. No dissenting votes were recorded on the contract approvals. The committee’s action items were listed on the meeting packet and recorded in the official minutes.
