Bancroft council discusses weak Well 5 pump test and roof repairs; seeks bids

Brian reported that a pump test on Well 5 returned weak results and said the problem could be a damaged or clogged screen; the Village is waiting for proposals from Peerless and Iron Well to determine repair scope and cost. Council discussed the possibility of hiring a single contractor to perform work on both the Well 5 building and Village Hall roof to streamline repairs.
On communications, Brian said he had spoken with "Brett" about a bank grant intended to help cover Village Hall roof work but that the process was slow because of government paperwork. He said he hopes to complete the roof before winter if funding and approvals allow.
The council also noted that several trees listed for work were blown down in the recent storm; Joshua and Brian are revising the tree work list to reflect the changed conditions. The DPW reported quick cleanup after the storm and that staff are working to get a broom reassembled for equipment upkeep.
No contract awards or final funding decisions were recorded at the meeting; the council awaits bids before taking further formal action.
