Reading City Council approved its consent agenda at a regular meeting on Oct. 8, 2024, including minutes, financial statements and payment of operating bills for September 2024 totaling $218,946.65.
The motion to approve the consent agenda was made by Councilor Penney and seconded by Councilor VanCamp. The roll call vote was recorded as yeas: George, VanCamp, Penney and Mayor Matthews; Councilor Matz was recorded absent. The consent package included the minutes from the Sept. 10 regular meeting and Sept. 30 Election Commission minutes, the Treasurer’s Report and financial statements for August 2024, and receipt of the Planning Commission/TIFA packet for September 2024.
Earlier in the meeting Councilor Penney moved and Councilor George seconded a motion to excuse Councilor Matz; that motion also carried on a 4-0 vote. Councilor VanCamp and Councilor Penney moved and seconded approval of the meeting agenda at the start of the session; that motion carried 4-0 as well.
The council’s actions on routine approvals and bill payments concluded quickly during the opening portion of the Oct. 8 meeting. The next scheduled Reading City Council meeting is Nov. 12, 2024.
