The Village of Luther board voted Dec. 10 to approve temporary street closures for Luther Days 2025 to accommodate a carnival and related events. Trustee Brittany Carlson moved to authorize the closures; Trustee Tiffany Clark seconded the motion, and the board voted unanimously to carry it.
The closures cover Front Street to Garfield from July 3 through July 6 for carnival activities, and the stretch from the library to Millpond from July 1 through July 6. The request originated during the public-comment portion of the meeting when Rose Wetherall asked the council to approve closing streets for the event.
The vote, recorded during the meeting, was described in the minutes as “all in favor.” No public opposition to the closures was noted in the minutes. The clerk noted the motion carried; the minutes do not specify permits, traffic-control plans or which staff will manage traffic closure logistics.
