Reed City Council OKs sesquicentennial webpage and appoints library board member

The Reed City Council on Dec. 9 voted to allow a sesquicentennial committee to oversee a dedicated webpage accessible from the city website; the committee page will be overseen by Council Member Charles Lupo. The motion (moved by Trevor Guiles, seconded by Dan Burchett) was affirmed by voice vote.
Later in the meeting Mayor Roger Meinert nominated Anna Maria Herrera to the Library Commission for a term expiring Dec. 31, 2029; Dan Burchett seconded and the appointment carried by voice vote.
In his manager's report, City Manager Rich Saladin highlighted community improvements and the success of the Evergreen Festival and stated that Reed City is not affected by Public Acts 229, 231, 233, 234 and 235 related to renewable energy; the minutes record that determination but do not provide supporting legal analysis at the meeting.
These items were handled by voice votes and are procedural or celebratory rather than policy decisions that require additional council action.
