Police Chief Steve Scott explained the city had issued a 60-day notice to abate. According to the minutes, the property has since sold and the new owner requested more time to complete cleanup; the new owner requested an extension until Nov. 1, 2020. Following a public hearing opened at 6:07 p.m., the council closed the hearing and, by unanimous roll call, approved the extension.
The minutes do not record public testimony opposed to the extension or conditions attached to the approval. The council’s unanimous vote is recorded as Councilmembers Holcomb, Schmidt and Miller voting aye.
The council then proceeded to other agenda business and adjourned at 6:27 p.m.
