Reed City Council approves $1.32 million in bills, $85,920 DWSRF23 change order and other routine items

Reed City Council approved a slate of routine and project-related actions during its Jan. 13 meeting, including payment of $1,322,040.23 in bills and a construction change order on the DWSRF23 project.
A motion by Brad Nixon, seconded by Charles Lupo, to approve payment of bills totaling $1,322,040.23 passed on a roll-call vote. Voting yes were Nixon, Mayor Roger Meinert, Trevor Guiles, Dan Burchett, Nate Bailey, Charles Lupo and Nicole Woodside.
Council also approved a change order (Change Order 5) for the DWSRF23 project with Gerber Construction in the amount of $85,920; the motion (moved by Trevor Guiles and seconded by Charles Lupo) carried on a roll-call vote. Earlier in the meeting the council approved a motion to destroy a presented list of documents (moved by Guiles, seconded by Bailey) and approved the consent agenda.
On a separate motion, the council approved burying a time capsule at the Museum with the understanding that ownership of the property would revert to the city in the event of the museum's dissolution; the deed will be revised accordingly. Gary Bailey volunteered to perform the burial at no charge. The council also approved the nomination of Kathy Fiebig to the Board of Review by voice vote.
All votes recorded in the minutes were affirmative as listed on the roll calls and voice votes; no recorded votes against or abstentions were noted in the meeting record.
