Rockwood council accepts reports, approves vehicle bid and announces $1M wastewater award

The Rockwood City Council at its Feb. 18, 2026 meeting approved routine agenda items and departmental reports and handled several municipal updates.
Council unanimously approved the Feb. 4 minutes and accounts payable (M-034-26). Members also approved and filed the Police Department activity report for January (M-035-26) and accepted a $6,400 bid for a 2014 Ford Explorer (M-036-26). The council accepted the fire department’s January and annual reports (M-037-26). The meeting concluded with a unanimous motion to adjourn at 7:40 p.m. (M-040-26).
Mayor Troy A. Cox announced several local awards and events: an $82,000 grant for outdoor lighting at the Community Center; $1,000,000 in state funds for the wastewater treatment plant; installation of an AED at the Community Center; the Lions Club Easter egg hunt on March 28, 2026 at 10 a.m.; a 2010 F-150 put up for sale with starting bids at $4,000; and a Wayne County project for Allen/Van Horn Road planned to begin in March.
All routine motions recorded in the transcript passed except for the separately considered SMART Bus resolution, which the council rejected 6–1 (M-039-26).
