Mayor Troy A. Cox and the Rockwood City Council honored Police Chief Randy Krause on Feb. 18, 2026, recognizing his 27 years with the department and accepting a Wayne County resolution presented by Commissioner Alex Garza.
John Wasner, a Rockwood resident, publicly thanked Chief Randy Krause for his service. Wayne County Commissioner Alex Garza presented an official Wayne County resolution honoring Krause; Mayor Troy A. Cox then presented Krause with a plaque.
The council also approved, by unanimous vote (motion M-038-26, moved by Council Member Mercure and seconded by Council Member Robertson), that Chief Krause may retain his service weapon and vest upon retirement. The motion was recorded as carried with all members voting in favor.
This item followed consent and departmental reports on the agenda. No additional conditions or financial terms for the equipment retention were recorded in the meeting transcript. The council adjourned at 7:40 p.m.
