Council hears resident complaints about sidewalks and clarifies easement responsibility; mayor announces Memorial Day parade

The Director of Public Works responded that a vertical displacement of 2 inches in sidewalks becomes a trip hazard and therefore requires attention. The director said a company will return to demo a grinder for repairs; a participant listed as Boron also mentioned the upcoming grinder demo. Council clarified that if a tree is located on an easement it is the city's responsibility to address it; if it is on an owner's side of the property line, it remains the owner's responsibility.
In other business, Mayor Troy A. Cox announced the Memorial Day parade set for May 25, 2026 at 10 a.m., following the same route as last year from Lamont to Fort and ending at Mercure Park.
The council then adopted the remaining motions and adjourned the meeting at 7:15 p.m.
