"The overall general fund balance was...20.93 million," Mr. Ford said, and he explained a $1.2 million decrease from February to March was driven primarily by a bus purchase: "we actually received our buses. So, we made the bus payment. Bus payment was about $1.4 million," he said, funded by a mix of state and local sources.
Board members asked how grant dollars from AT&T and other state funding were being handled. Mr. Ford said the 2024 funds were already in the district account and the 2025 award—about $4.3 million—had paperwork complete and was expected in late June or early July; spending deadlines were September 30, 2026 for the 2025 awards and September 30 (this year) for remaining 2024 funds.
After questions, the board approved the financial report "as presented, subject to audit." The board did not record a roll-call tally in the meeting transcript; approval was taken by voice vote.
