The Pleasant Hill City Council set April 14, 2026 as the date for the second public hearing on the FY27 budget under Resolution #032426-06.
City Manager Ben Champ explained that a change in state requirements beginning in 2024 requires cities to hold two hearings on the annual budget, with a first hearing devoted to the Proposed Property Tax Levies in a special meeting and a second hearing prior to adopting the final budget by resolution, per Code of Iowa section 384.16. The change also moved the date to certify city budgets to April 30 to allow time for the two hearings and required mailings. The resolution to set the April 14 hearing passed unanimously.
