The Pleasant Hill City Council on April 28 approved the third reading of Ordinance #968, vacating the NE 52nd Court right-of-way and removing its status as a public roadway to enable future disposition to adjacent owners.
Assistant City Manager and Community Development Director Madeline Sturms told the council the request came from Elder Corporation and noted the parcel is not independently buildable; transfer to adjacent owners is the only disposition option. Sturms said the City Planning and Zoning Commission unanimously recommended approval and that a subsequent public hearing will be scheduled to consider a purchase agreement for the property.
Councilmember Len Murray moved to approve the third reading; Andrew Birch seconded. The ordinance passed on a 5-0 roll call vote.
The council's action does not itself transfer ownership. Sturms said further procedural steps and an additional public hearing will be required before any sale or conveyance is finalized.
