Rothbury council adopts Electric Forest road-closure resolution, approves monthly bills and $198.45 donation

The Rothbury Village Council voted on multiple items during its Feb. 18 meeting. Autum Drake moved to pay the village’s monthly bills and Mike Harris seconded; the motion carried on a 6–0 vote with one member absent. Later, President Vern Talmadge read a resolution submitted by the Electric Forest Festival requesting approval for temporary road closures for the 2025 festival. Mike Harris moved to adopt the resolution; Troy Voorhees seconded and the council adopted it 6–0 with one member absent.
President Talmadge raised the village’s requested donation of $198.45 to the 2025 Household Hazardous Waste program. Mike Harris moved to approve the contribution; Autum Drake seconded and the council approved the donation 6–0 with one member absent.
President Talmadge also announced that Carol Witzke will assume the Planning Commission secretary role and will continue as an on-call consultant to the Village at a consulting rate of $25 per hour. The meeting adjourned at 8:38 p.m.
