Clarksville council approves street, drainage projects and library pay increase; adopts expenditures

The Clarksville City Council on Jan. 23 approved multiple agenda items, including agreements for the Ilgenfritz storm-water drainage project and the Jefferson and Church Street project, a salary increase for a library assistant and the city’s December expenditures. Mayor Michael Grantham presided.
Council Member Jennifer Kielman moved and Council Member Wendy Brooks seconded approval of the consent agenda and the minutes for Jan. 9 and Jan. 23; the motion carried on a roll-call vote with Council Members Roger Doty, Brooks, Kielman, Taran Sherburne and Brock Lodge voting aye.
The council approved Resolution 23-1 to raise the salary of Lisa Fokkena, a library assistant. The motion to adopt the resolution was moved by Council Member Wendy Brooks and seconded by Council Member Taran Sherburne. The roll call recorded ayes from Doty, Brooks, Kielman and Sherburne and a nay from Brock Lodge; the resolution passed.
Council Member Taran Sherburne moved and Council Member Wendy Brooks seconded approval of the Ilgenfritz Storm Water Drainage Project agreement; the motion passed unanimously. Separately, Council Member Brock Lodge moved and Council Member Taran Sherburne seconded approval of the Jefferson and Church Street Project agreement; that motion also passed unanimously.
Following a budget discussion focused on revenues, Council Member Wendy Brooks and Council Member Roger Doty moved to approve the December monthly expenditures and the financial reports presented by City Clerk Molly Bohlen. The motion passed on a roll-call vote with Doty, Brooks, Sherburne, Kielman and Lodge voting aye.
The meeting adjourned at 7:28 p.m.
