Mancelona board approves retirements, resignations and hires; names electoral representative

On a Musselman/Ross motion the board accepted letters of retirement from Geraldine Jones (high school guidance secretary), Lori Derror (high school special education teacher) and Lisa Compton (elementary teacher). It also accepted resignations from Alyssa Rickley (middle and elementary special education), Kendyll Schaeffer (middle/high school art) and Dustin Melvig (middle school wrestling coach).
The board approved the recommendation to hire Colby Squires as the high school golf coach and established four standing committees: Policy, Finance, Personnel and Forestry. The consent agenda motion passed 5–0.
Under action items the board designated Tom Ross as its electoral representative and Gerald Clark as alternate on a Musselman/Derrer motion; that motion passed 5–0.
The meeting included no citizens’ comments on action items and concluded with adjournment at 5:09 p.m.
