Roseville board unanimously approves MHSAA membership, waives band transportation fees and OKs media center furniture purchase

The Roseville Community Schools Board of Education on July 7, 2025, unanimously approved a set of consent items including the district’s Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) membership resolution for 2025–26, a transportation-fee waiver for a Roseville High School band trip, authorization to buy tables and chairs for the high school media center using building funds, and the General Fund warrant list for the month ending June 30, 2025.
Trustee Kevin Switanowski moved to approve the MHSAA membership resolution, and Matthew McCartney supported the motion; the roll call vote recorded AYES from Theresa Genest, Kevin Switanowski, Joseph D. DeFelice, Matthew McCartney, Gina Aiuto, Denise Brun and Michelle Williams-Ward (7-0). Michelle Williams-Ward moved, with Switanowski supporting, to waive transportation fees for the band’s August 4–8, 2025 camp trip to Adrian College; that motion also carried unanimously.
The board approved a request to purchase tables and chairs for the Roseville High School media center using building funds on a motion by Joseph D. DeFelice, supported by Michelle Williams-Ward; the minutes record a roll call AYES and a unanimous (7-0) outcome. Separately, the Business Office recommended approval of the General Fund warrant list for month ending June 30, 2025; Switanowski moved and McCartney supported the motion, which passed on a 7-0 vote.
During member remarks President Theresa Genest expressed appreciation for the opportunity to lead again; Vice President Kevin Switanowski offered condolences/recognition regarding M. Rollinger. With no further business the board adjourned at 7:15 p.m.
All items in this package were approved without recorded opposition and will be implemented by district administration as appropriate.
