Theresa J. Genest was elected president of the Roseville Community Schools Board of Education for the 2025–26 term, the board confirmed July 7.
The board also selected Kevin Switanowski as vice president, Joseph DeFelice as secretary and Matthew McCartney as treasurer, effective July 7, 2025, through June 30, 2026. The slate was approved by motion of Joseph DeFelice, supported by Gina Aiuto, and carried unanimously (7-0).
In additional organizational appointments, Assistant Superintendent Peter Hedemark was named Director of Elections for the board after a motion by Joseph DeFelice, supported by Kevin Switanowski. The board appointed Kevin Switanowski as the delegate and Denise Brun as alternate to serve on the Macomb County School Boards Association Legislative Committee following a motion by Switanowski and support from Gina Aiuto; both motions carried 7-0.
The organizational meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. and adjourned at 6:43 p.m. No members of the public spoke during the public-comment period for agenda or general items.
