Board members asked how the $30,000 match would be sourced; staff said existing appropriations include a balance that can be encumbered. The board voted to approve submitting the application and signing the letter of commitment. The letter of commitment will be signed by board members that evening.
What happens next: If the grant is awarded, the town will use the funds for design and permitting work to support a later construction phase; additional construction funds would be sought in later budgets or grants and through any required town appropriations.
