On Aug. 13 the Mancelona Public Schools Board of Education approved its consent agenda, which included the minutes from the July 9 regular meeting, multiple accounts payable disbursements, updates to PERA and Title IX language, revisions to the teacher evaluation contract, one hire and several resignations.
The board recorded the following accounts-payable amounts in its minutes: General Fund checks on July 16 for $130,934.53 and Aug. 6 for $175,235.33; Bond Fund checks on Aug. 6 for $1,387,051.81. The board approved the consent agenda on a motion by Kim Musselman, seconded by MacQuarrie; the vote was 7-0.
The board accepted the recommendation to hire Sierra Toomey as a fourth-grade teacher. The board also accepted resignations from Stormy Darling (middle-school assistant), Cindy Warren (elementary teacher), Jake Kauffman (middle-school teacher and high-school bowling coach) and Rebekah Kolka (GSRP teacher).
Tina Frollo reported that Mr. DiRosa worked with Neola to update PERA and Title IX language and that teacher evaluations were adjusted from four categories to three, eliminating the "highly effective" rating while meeting the legal requirements for the number of observations.
Those consent items carried as a package; no public comments were recorded on action items.
