The Select Board approved a change-of-manager application for Bad Martha's Farmers Brewery at 876 East Falmouth Highway after the town resolved an Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission (ABCC) paperwork issue involving an erroneous signature on a prior filing.
Town staff explained the ABCC had returned the earlier application because the form contained a signature by an individual associated with the Edgartown location rather than the Falmouth manager of record. After re-filing and follow-up by counsel, the brewery submitted a corrected change-of-manager application.
Ralph Younger, who has served as manager at the Falmouth location since 2019, told the board he is on-site frequently and has worked to address past noise complaints through interior and exterior mitigation and by coordinating with neighbors. Younger said he typically works 60–70 hours per week during season and that the brewery maintains daily decibel readings for live music and is investing in more robust sound-mitigation panels.
The board noted the brewery’s past complaints but said the refiled application and local mitigation steps supported approving the manager change. The board voted to approve the change of manager.
