At a public hearing, the Trussville City Council voted to authorize the mayor to approve transfer of a Club Two liquor license to Three Silos Group, the operators behind Three Silos Golf.
Scott Barnett, representing the applicants, introduced the owners and said they were seeking to transfer the existing Club Two license into the applicants’ names and would comply with training and enforcement requirements. "I'm Scott Barnett," he said as he opened remarks to the council and explained the plan to the members. Barnett and the owners identified themselves as Mark Nicks and Mike Gunner.
Council members asked questions about responsible‑vendor training and ID procedures. Barnett said staff would be trained using an existing certified trainer from Mr. Gunner and that the applicants’ goal was to have a certified trainer on staff in time; on ID checks he said, "It will be pretty much everyone," indicating an intent to check IDs broadly. The applicants said they had submitted the Club Two application to the ABC board and were meeting the club license requirements; they also said they intend to apply for a special retail license later to allow more open retail service rather than private‑club restrictions.
Councilors pressed details about service and timing. Applicants said that, for now, service would be limited to beer until their restaurant opens; they identified the planned restaurant concept as the Farmhouse in Springville. The applicants said they understood Club Two is a more restrictive license intended for private clubs and that their eventual special retail application would allow public retail sales.
After the public hearing closed with no other speakers, a council member moved to approve a resolution authorizing the mayor to approve the license transfer application; the motion was seconded and adopted by voice vote. The council recorded the resolution as passed.
What’s next: the applicants said they will proceed with ABC board processes and return to the council when they formally seek any change to a special retail license; the mayor is authorized to approve the transfer application per the council vote.
