Trussville — Councilors on Dec. 11 approved proclamation 2025-23 recognizing Wreaths Across America Day in Trussville and invited volunteers to participate in the December wreath-laying events.
Councilor Miller introduced the proclamation declaring the second Saturday in December as Wreaths Across America Day in Trussville. The proclamation cites the national nonprofit’s goal of placing wreaths on veterans’ graves and called on citizens and businesses to support local volunteer efforts.
John Griman, identified at the meeting as a local organizer working with American Legion Post 205, told the council the group expects about 1,100 wreaths to be delivered and that ceremonies will begin at 11 a.m. at the memorial. Councilors made a short presentation and approved the proclamation by voice vote.
What’s next: organizers will receive the council’s certificate of appreciation and volunteers will assemble to place wreaths on veterans’ graves on the designated day.
