The Community Redevelopment Agency of the City of Fort Myers approved four budget amendment resolutions for the fiscal year beginning Oct. 1, 2025 and ending Sept. 30, 2026, moving money across redevelopment trust funds during a routine "true up" of adopted budgets.
Attorney Clifford Shepherd read the four resolutions aloud. The key changes were: an increase of approximately $1,667,187.33 for the downtown redevelopment area (CRA2026-05), a decrease of $23,998.40 for the East Fort Myers redevelopment area (CRA2026-06), an increase of $585,121.38 for the Cleveland redevelopment area (CRA2026-07), and an increase of $777,011.41 for the Deep Doctor MLK Junior Boulevard redevelopment area (CRA2026-08). Taken together, the net change across the four resolutions is roughly $3,005,321.72 (net increase).
Executive Director Hilton Terry explained that the "true up" adjusts budget appropriations after adoption to reflect actual millage and prior-year expenditures; East Fort Myers required a downward adjustment while the other districts required increased reappropriations. "Typically in January, February, we do a true up where we understand what the real numbers are, and then we have to reappropriate those dollars," Hilton said, noting that the adjustments align the redevelopment trust fund appropriations with updated forecasts.
Each resolution was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote with no recorded nays.

What it means: The amendments reallocate funds within the CRA istrict budgets to reflect updated revenue and expenditure information; staff said these are technical adjustments following the formal budget adoption process and do not, by themselves, authorize new projects.
