Board approves janitorial contract and authorizes tourism/hospitality grant applications to Hilton Head and Beaufort County

The board approved two administrative actions at the February meeting: a contract award recommendation for terminal janitorial services and authorization to apply for tourism-related grant funds.

Separately, staff sought board authorization to apply for inbound marketing funds through the Town of Hilton Head and hospitality-tax grants through Beaufort County. John explained those programs target marketing beyond a 50-mile radius and local hospitality expenditures; the board agreed to group agenda items and approved the applications so staff can submit proposals and specify intended uses. Board members noted that award amounts are set by the funders and any award would come back to staff and the board for acceptance and allocation.
