Kennebunk Conservation Commission approves minutes, sets follow-ups from Connecting Kennebunk event

The Town of Kennebunk Conservation Commission approved the minutes of its Feb. 2 meeting and set several follow-up actions after discussing outcomes from a recent Connecting Kennebunk event. The meeting was held Feb. 26 and adjourned at 7:50 p.m.
Sally Tabor, a commission member, said she will distribute a summary and action list from the Connecting Kennebunk event and flagged two near-term items: pursuing installation of a bench on Bridal Path and finding funding or sponsorship for downtown bike racks. Jennifer Shack, a commission member, said she will contact Parks and Facilities to inquire about installing the proposed park bench and that the commission will consult the Economic Vitality Director about downtown signage for the park. The state is funding trail creation and improvement projects; proposals are due June 6 and the Climate Action Committee may take the lead on applying.
Commissioners also recorded a brief note under other business about possible environmental impacts from a proposed data center and a proposed PFAS processing facility; no formal action or direction was taken on those items. The commission scheduled a joint meeting with the Climate Action Committee for March 2 and set commission meetings for March 30 and April 6.
