Wolverine council adopts consent items, to meet with residents over access and parking complaint

WOLVERINE — At its May 12 meeting, the Village of Wolverine council adopted routine consent and financial items and agreed to meet with residents about a neighborhood dispute.
The council voted to adopt the meeting agenda (motion by Bob Wallin, supported by Devoll), correct a land lease for James Jacklitch from a monthly rent of $600 to an annual payment of $600, and adopt the April 14 minutes (motion by Rick Johnston, supported by Sue Beitel). The April 2025 treasurer's report (motion by Bob Wallin, supported by Dennis Holden) and the clerk's financial report for April 2025 (motion by Sue Beitel, supported by Dennis Holden) were adopted by unanimous verbal votes. A motion to pay the presented bills (moved by Bob Wallin, supported by Rick Johnston) passed by unanimous roll call.
During the audience portion, guests Duane and Penny Goddard told the council they were concerned about access to their back lot to remove brush and described an alleged parking problem with a neighbor; the minutes record President Ralph Ochs suggested he would meet with the Goddards during the week of May 19 to discuss. The minutes list Dawn Benac, the village clerk, as absent; the minutes also note a supporter named "Devoll" when motions were seconded though that name does not appear in the initial attendance list.
The meeting included brief committee entries with no reports filed; the council adjourned at 8:45 p.m.
